August 2023 marks the celebration of the International Youth Day and Linggo ng Kabataan 2023 and it commenced with the theme “Green Skills for Youth Towards a Sustainable Growth.”

The focus of this year’s International Youth Day is to raise awareness about the importance of green skills for young people in the context of global efforts towards environmental sustainability and a climate-friendly world. These skills are not only essential for addressing the climate crisis but also crucial for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The municipality of Mariveles in Bataan took part in celebrating Linggo ng Kabataan 2023 with various activities organized by the Mariveles Local Youth Development Office, Sangguniang Kabataan Federation, and headed by Municipal Mayor Ace Jello Concepcion. The objective of these events was to engage the youth of Mariveles and foster their understanding of green skills and environmental conservation. Workshops and seminars were conducted to empower the young generation in contributing to a more resilient and sustainable future.

Mayor Concepcion emphasized the significance of the youth’s role in building a better future, expressing gratitude for their concern and care for the environment. He added that the celebration served as a platform for the Kabataang Mariveleño to showcase their potential and enthusiasm in working together towards a greener and more prosperous world for all.
